Okay, our better halves, and mom, would probably argue with all six of us that “need” is a bit of a strong word to use when talking about stuff at the swap meet. Their opinion is wrong. Could we “live” without the cool gasser wagon? Probably, but our lives will be a mere shadow of the amazingly fulfilling existence we would have owning it. Will Cole survive the next week without the Elf shoes we found? Probably but, mark my words, there will come a day when I get the chance to say “See, we should have gotten the elf shoes at Long Beach and then we wouldn’t be in the mess.” I’m telling you Jack it’s going to happen.

Of course there are tons of other cool things like Tools from Russ the Tool Guy, a huge selection of 12 bolt rearends, intakes, carbs, lights, gaskets, and all kinds of other cool stuff we needed. Hell, they even had the kitchen sink. Seriously, check out the gallery and you’ll see it. There are also tons of cars there for the car show and sale, and we have lots of photos of them as well. This first gallery is all the parts and cars from inside the swap meet, plus a few from the car corral and car show area. We’ll have even more up tomorrow.

WOW a Grey Ghost, I wanted one of those so bad when I was a kid. And a Chevy II 12 bolt, I traded one of those away 30 years ago. Now look at how much both are worth.

That is a re-released Grey Ghost, not a real one from the 60’s. Note the lack of a 5 speed. Some lawyers must have objected to the stick shift on the top tube. I wanted a Pea Picker myself.
Am I the only one getting tired of new construction “gassers” on cars that were never used as gassers?

No, you’re not. We had a discussion about that topic at the track last weekend. Gasser is a way over used descriptor, we decided to help bring back Street Freak. Semantics maybe, but it was a long rain delay.

1966 and 1967 you could only get a 396 only in the coupe and not in a sedan. And these were only SS396 models.

You could get a copo Chevelle in 69 that had a 427. It had the exterior trim just like a six cylinder car, no engine callouts at all, and no SS emblems. Chevrolet sold about a thousand of them, your choice of 4 speed or turbo 400.

Bout time you showed some pictures of parts at a swap meet. I was beginning to think all you went to were car shows that weren’t too particular about what they let in…..
