Gallery: A Collection Of Classic American Full Sized Cars From The BangShift Archives

(Photos from the BangShift Archive) – Call me an ugly American is you want but bigger is definitely better when it comes to may taste in cars. The humongous machines of the 1960s and 1970s personified the attitude of the country and continue to look great with their long flowing lines and over the top styling cues. It must have been a designer’s dream to get assigned to Cadillac, Lincoln, or on the full-size line of another make. They weren’t constrained by things like weight, length, width, or crumple zones. Simply put, full size American cars are so iconic because of the creative freedom granted to designers of the time. People ate up the looks and attitude of these cars.

Obviously you are going to see several Cadillacs in this gallery but I really tried to grab a few Lincolns, a Chrysler product or two, Chevrolets, Oldsmobiles, Pontiacs, and maybe even a rogue Buick. It was kind of shocking to see how many Cadillac photos we have in the archive. Hell, I could do some dedicated Caddy galleries if you want to see them!

These photos are from shows all over the country and were taken by our army of talented contributors who continue to take us places we’d otherwise never see. They appear to have the full size bug just like me!
