Hodgson Racing Debuts Awesome New Camaro Nitro Funny Car

Successful businessman and Canadian Hall of Fame drag racer Ron Hodgson teamed up with his son Ryan a few years ago to field their own family alcohol funny car.  Now the Hodgson family has stepped it up with this brand new ’69 Camaro nitro funny car that’ll make it’s racing debut at the upcoming IHRA MOPAR Nitro Jam Rocky Mountian Nationals in Edmonton AB at Castrol Raceway on July 17 – 19, driven by 41 year-old Ryan and tuned by nitro veteran Bob Papirnick .

The new funny car sits on a 125-inch Victory Race Cars chassis and a newly designed, prototype Camaro body by Victory, made of lightweight carbon fiber out of RC Fabrication in Arizona.  It’s powered by a 457 cubic inch Alan Johnson Performance Engineering TFX engine

In addition to fielding a 6.99 index nostalgia alcohol funny car, Ryan has also driven a variety of racecars in his career, including dirt oval late models and sportsman sprint cars. The Hodgson’s also plan on competing with the new nitro car at select events as the 44th annual Nightfire Nationals in Boise, ID, the 24th California Hot Rod Reunion and the legendary March Meet in 2016.  The Hodgson team won the prestigious March Meet in 2013 with Tim Boychuk driving and looks to build upon that Championship with the sleek new ride.
