Honda NSX Burns Down At Nürburgring…It’s Official, It’s A Modern Supercar!

Honda NSX Burns Down At Nürburgring…It’s Official, It’s A Modern Supercar!

We’re pretty sure that if you utter the words “trial by fire” anywhere near a Honda tester right now, you’ll be knocked the hell out. During testing at the Nürburgring Nordschliefe in Germany, of one of the 2016 Honda NSX prototypes decided to add a little bit more “hell” to the Green Hell and self-immolated, with both drivers booking it out of the car for the sides of the track. While there are no details on what specifically happened, given that the front end looks okay and the back end looks like Godzilla sneezed on it, we’re willing to bet it was an engine fire of some sort.

Lately, that seems to be the mark of a good supercar. There have been numerous reports of Ferraris, Lamborghinis and even Porsches roasting themselves to death. If that’s the case, at least the NSX got it out of the way before they became problematic to the customer.

Nope. But you can simulate the grilling atmosphere by throwing a Barbie doll w/high heels into your BBQ and squirt have a can of lighter fluid on top. Taste the same. Bonus to this method is there’s no need for turning the weenie, nor any condiments, as there’s no way you’ll taste them.

I hear that earlier in the test session, it laid down some blazing lap times though…
