The countdown begins. The start date for Evan Knoll’s trial is set for February 14. There is another pre-trial meeting scheduled on January 31 which we are going to monitor with eagle eyes because that could be where a plea deal of some sort is worked out. The often stated stats are that the government convicts at a rate of 90% or better in cases like this. We cannot verify the accuracy of such figures but even if they are close, a trial may just be delaying the inevitable.
