Kyle Busch Cited for Reckless Driving, May Lose Driver’s License

An evening joy ride in a pre-production Lexus sports car has landed Kyle Busch in some hot water with North Carolina law enforcement. That tends to happen when you run 128mph in a 45mph zone. We’re pretty sure that margin is slightly more than a, “Whoopsie doodle, officer!” Busch released a statement with one of the great understatements in recent memory, with the line, “I went beyond the speed I should have been going on a public road.” You don’t say?

Busch allegedly told the police that the car was “just a toy”, as it was on loan from Lexus’s parent company, Toyota. While a story about a race car driver behaving badly on public roadways is nothing new, the interesting twist on this one is the fact that he was doing it in a car that is still unavailable to the buying public. That buying public will be pretty small as just 500 of these cars will ever be built.

Busch faces the loss of his license for 30 days as the NC statute reads that anyone caught driving 15mph or more over the speed limit will have their license pulled for a month. We don’t know the rule for when you get pinched doing nearly three times the posted limit. Chain gang maybe?

(Kyle Busch busted for going 128mph in 45mph zone)

Thanks for the tip Phil Cooper!

I think most of us are just lucky we were never caught when did those stupid things.

I’m imagine a cop drinking coffee and the lexus flying by and then him spilling said coffee while trying to quickly pursue.

Fines don’t do anything to these people. It’s only money to them and they have it. NASCRAP needs to make them sit out a race or two.

I wonder if he would’ve avoided whomever and killed himself if necessary? Hmm.
A pal once lived there, said that road was 45 mph for a reason.

Uh, do you need a driver’s license to have a competition license in NASCAR?

I’d be f’ng hilarious if he couldn’t race until he got his license back.

I never was a NASCAR fan anyway. Drags are my thing!! NASCAR will probably give him a reward or something for being reckless and irresponsible on a public roadway!! Stupid is as stupid does!!

That road is 45, and he was near a school as well. The road has one subdivision after another and tons of kids playing.
Where Kyle lives has much more open road and room to “test” drive.
He has no respect for anything or anyone.

To all the guys writing negative comments….. My car isn’t all that fast, but just loosing your head for 5-6 seconds puts me so far over the limit I would be in serious shit.
At a 45mph roll if I mashed the throttle for 6 seconds I will be well over 100, mash the brakes and be back down to 65 and be a “douche bag” for 10 seconds.
And if anyone here that claims they haven’t been dumb in a car for 10 seconds….is a liar.

Kyle may be a victim of wrong place wrong time.
Now if he was doing 128 for an extended distance…. He definitely needs a beating

He was wrong. But yesterday I wanted to see what MPH, 4000 RPM was in 6th gear . . . I was wrong too. Still 105 mph on a Road King doesn’t “feel” dangerous . . . to me.
