(Photos by Joe Grippo) – We have recently shown you stock and super stock action from the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Maple Grove Raceway and now we’re delving into the other classes that filled the property in Pennsylvania. This is a collection of the other cars that were on the track and in the pits for the event. We’re talking Comp Eliminator, some of the Super classes, and more.

We know of some tracks that do a really nice job promoting their NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events and they put people in the stands but most don’t populate their tracks with fans for these events. That is a damned shame because the racing is so good and the cars are so cool. When people show up and watch Comp and then “get it” they are hooked. How could you not be with all of the neat stuff that lives in that class, right?

The super classes may not provide most drag racing fans with the header flaming, wheels up stuff that they want but if you sit by the finish line with a beer and watch the deal go down we know that you’ll love it. Drivers literally staring each other down at 190mph is the order of the day.
