Monday Time Killer: Ghost Tracks

Monday Time Killer: Ghost Tracks

One of our users blew our cover. We were going to direct you to 60sFunnyCars.com and 70sFunny Cars.com as this week’s Time Killer, but PatricksDad jumped us by linking those on a message-board thread. If you didn’t check out the sites based on that plug in our forums, by all means do it now. Those sites are packed with photos of Funny Cars from back when they actually looked like cars. You’ll burn down most of the day with ’em.

But that’s not what this post is all about. As an offering for inadvertantly hijacking us, PatricksDad PM’d us this gem: it’s the type of site we’ve been asking for, a directory of lost tracks nationwide. This particular site is a little rudimentary, but handles the task well because it does not aim to document every former track on its own, but instead it’s a link page for all sorts of other sites, each of which are more dedicated to covering individual long-gone race venues.

Also, here’s another link to a site that’s doing a pretty good job of documenting lost dragstrips.

Between all of those, I figure your Monday is pretty much shot. Have a nice day.
