The company has just released a new X-Factor cross member for those years of Chevy II/Nova and the beauty of these is that they are strong as hell (tested to 1,000 lb-ft of twist) lightweight (they are aluminum), accommodating of big exhaust (up to 3.5″) and their design allows them to fit everything from a T56 to a Turbo 350! That’s right. Automatics and manuals are all on the X-Factor program.

American Powertrain has many applications of X-Factor cross member out on the market today and this is the latest in the line. The company has long been known for their well engineered, properly fitting products and innovative solutions for the needs of customers. That trend shows no signs of abating with this latest announcement.

Here’s the scoop from American Powertrain!

New X-Factor Modular Aluminum Cross Member for 1963-67 Chevy II/Nova

February 03, 2015 (Cookeville, TN) American Powertrain introduces its new X-Factor modular cross member for 1963-67 Chevy II/Nova.   Made from powder coated T-6061 aluminum this cross member bolts to the original unibody crossmember  mounts and provides clearance for up to 3.5” exhaust.

The X-Factor for early Novas is adjustable to fit the TREMEC TKO, T56/Magnum, Muncie, T10 and LGT700 manual transmissions along with the T350, T400, 700R4 and 4l60/65/70e automatics among others.   It is compatible with common GM isolator mounts or American Powertrain’s ISO-X ballistic mounts.

Each cross member comes with the modular aluminum center section, steel sub-frame mounting plates, a height adjustable  bridge plate and installation hardware.  As with all X-factor cross members, the First Gen Nova X-Factor is tested to withstand over 1000ft-lbs of twist.  The lightweight construction means big weight savings over steel and it looks cool too.

The X-Factor for 1963-67 Chevy II/Nova is available now and retails for around $350.00.  Every X-Factor cross member is backed by American Powertrain’s 2-year warranty.
