Cool New Die-Cast Alert: The 1963 Pontiac Tempest Super Duty That Killed ‘Em All At Daytona Is Here!

If you are a fan of collecting cool die-cast cars for your office, desk or perhaps as gifts for friends, we have got a hot tip for you. The crew over at ACME die-cast has dropped some great knowledge in the fact that they are going to be selling miniature 1:16 scale recreations of o the 1963 Pontiac Tempest Super Duty that Paul Goldsmith used to smash everything from Ferrari GTOs to big block Mystery Motor Corvettes at the 1963 Daytona 250 Continental race.

We immortalized the history with our story entitled Thundering Bastard (CLICK HERE TO SEE IT). We are excited to report that each and every one of the Pontiacs that ACME sells will have a copy of our story in the box! This car was a truly beastly thing with a monster 421 engine and suspension work done by the crafty and brilliant Goldsmith to make it a real dominant force on the high banks of the then relatively new Daytona super speedway.

The cars looks amazing with details right down to the spark plug wires, a full interior, the awesome steel wheels and the side pipes that were employed to make the car legal per the rules. The decals on the front fender match the real car perfectly as do the numbers emblazoned on the doors and roof.

This thing is awesome and we’re proud to have a little part of each one that ships out the door!
