The Edelbrock Dual-Quad Hemi Manifold Blows The Competition Away And Looks Awesome Doing It

The Edelbrock Dual-Quad Hemi Manifold Blows The Competition Away And Looks Awesome Doing It

If we have a common failing here at BangShift it is the complete lack of hemi ownership in our past and present. That’s a sad deal that we need to get handled and we were reminded of our dearth of hemi ownership recently when we sat down with the guys from Edelbrock and learned about their new dual quad hemi intake (among other things). This great looking piece is designed for GEN II hemi engines (the kind produced between 1964-1971 or better yet 426 style engines). This is a single plane style intake that uses Edelbrock’s Air Gap design to keep the runners away from the heat and the other piece of good news is that you can use all your same factory linkage and anyone running a shaker hood can use this piece as a bolt on as well.

The intake will work with factory heads but to get the most out of it, use Edelbrock’s Victor Jr. hemi heads. How much more? Edelbrock says that they picked up 35hp over the competition when testing this intake on top of a 528cim, 650hp engine. That’s a significant number and proof that there’s lots going on inside what looks to be a pretty “simple” piece of cast aluminum. Having held that intake in our own hands we can tell you that the casting is really nice and it is 100% American made from the raw materials to the finished product.

While it would sure look good hanging on our office wall as art, it will look way better and be way happier on top of your hemi! If you are looking for more power without giving up the factory fit that you expect, order one of these bad boys STAT! The full scoop from Edelbrock is below as are a series of detailed images of the intake itself.

Edelbrock Dual-Quad HEMI Intake Manifold

TORRANCE, CA – Edelbrock is excited to release its new dual-quad intake manifold for HEMI engines.

These Dual-Quad HEMI intake manifolds are intended for use with Mopar Gen II (1964-71) 426-572 HEMI engines operating in the 2,500 to 6,500+ range. These new intake manifolds are a single-plane Air-Gap® design with a dual square-bore 4150-style carburetor pad. Carburetor spacing and height are the same as Mopar Performance dual-quad #P5153737, making it a direct bolt-on to all vehicles with a shaker hood. They also retain the same carburetor linkage location from the factory.

The Edelbrock Dual-Quad HEMI is compatible with factory style cylinder heads, but has been optimized for use with Edelbrock Victor Jr. HEMI cylinder heads. This intake manifold will require Edelbrock Coil Bracket (#8079) for use with OE style coils. Victor EFI Fuel Rail Kit (#3660), is also available which will accommodate 60mm injectors.

In testing, the Edelbrock Dual-Quad HEMI produced 656 HP and 618 ft-lbs. of torque on a 528 c.i.d. engine, out performing the competition by 35 HP and 5 ft-lbs. of torque.
