SEMA 2016: OPGI Builds On Existing Cadillac Parts Line – Introduces New G-Body Buick Products

How do you get our attention? Well, starting with a gorgeous green 1968 Cadillac Coupe de Ville is a very, very good start. There was no ignoring the great big C-body as it sat, monstrous and majestic at the same time, in front of Original Parts Group’s booth on the SEMA floor. You know OPGI as a go-to for General Motors restoration parts, and at SEMA this year they updated one of their coolest product lines: Cadillac from 1954 to 1976. The company has been well known for these parts for some time but additional pieces have been added to help those restoring these big boulevard bruisers back to tip top shape.

As far as new product lines, the 1978-1987 Buick G-body lineup, from the basic Regal through the badass-in-black Grand National is now covered! With enthusiasts starting to look towards non-traditional vehicles for restoration or rebuilding projects, and the ever-increasing popularity of the Buick G-body lines, it was only a matter of time. We did ask if other G-body lines will be coming down the line…OPGI already has parts available for 1978-1983 Malibus, 1978-87 El Camino and 1978-87 Monte Carlo, but we couldn’t resist asking if the remainder of the A/G body line might be getting attention. Oldsmobile’s Cutlass Supreme, 442 and Hurst/Olds lineup is probably next, with Pontiac Grand Prix determined by customer demand.

Additionally, OPGI brought out their first restomodded vehicle, a 1970 Chevelle SS. Wearing OPGI’s new 1970 Chevelle taillights, Vintage Air air conditioning, Wilwood brakes and 17″ Magnum 500-style wheels, the Chevelle had a nice, near-restored vibe to it, and the 502 crate mill dressed up as a 1970 big-block would have no problem providing muscle-car grunt. One thing that wasn’t so up-front was the horse-collar automatic shifter running an overdrive automatic transmission…a very nice touch.

OPGI strives to provide the best restoration quality parts for your GM car, so if you have any interest, check out their website (www.opgi.com) and see if they have something you need!
