BangShift Project Files: A $1,000 Jeep Comanche That Is On It’s Way To Becoming A Jurassic Park Utility Truck!

When Jurassic Park came out in 1993, it set a high standard for what a movie could be. Fans were treated to the sights of a dinosaur park near Costa Rica as Murphy’s Law kicked in, and don’t get us wrong, that was awesome. Between the T. rex footsteps shaking the water glass and the Dilophosaurus…the spitting dinosaur that ate Dennis Nedry…it was perfect film genius from Stephen Spielberg, based upon a brilliant novel by Michael Crichton’s novel. All well, all good, but what was there for the gearhead? Not much, unfortunately…unless you were into the theme park vehicles. Then, if you had an early Ford Explorer or a Jeep YJ Wrangler, you were in luck because you could create your own Isla Nubar field vehicle on the cheap!

So what, exactly, does that have to do with a primer black Jeep Comanche? BangShift forum member “RustyRodder” liked the idea of a Jurassic Park vehicle, but wanted a pickup. And it just so happened that he had a friend that was selling a the Comanche cheap. With a $1,000 dollar truck and running under BangShift’s $5,000 Project Car Challenge, the goal is to turn the Jeep into a Jurassic Park services truck. Want to see if the truck can look opening day fresh for under five grand? Check out the build thread!
