Project Car Spotlight: A 538ci Cadillac Powered 1953 Studebaker Champion Starliner

This could be the coolest, most well executed car ever constructed under a car port ever. BangShift.com forum member 53 Studillac purchased a 1953 Studebaker Champion Starliner a few years back that had been rodded already. He bought it with a 500ci Caddy engine, custom interior, and other modifications. After driving it for a while and dealing with it’ flaws he decided to make some changes of his own, and boy has he!

The car now sports a 538ci Cadillac stroker engine that is filled to the gills with all kinds of performance parts including aluminum heads and a crazy intake manifold topped with eight individual throttle bodies all opened with a linkage that Dwayne (53 Studillac) designed and built himself!

He’s upgraded the rear end, added a roll cage, re-engineered some of the car’s frame, done a new dash, and all of it has been accomplished under the car port roof at his own home. That’s BangShift.com approved goodness!

Dwayne is a talented writer as well so his updates are always thorough and informative.

It’s pretty awesome that a car which he got in “hot rod” trim already is being taken so far into the next level by Dwayne while working in his spare time and spending his own hard earned cash. This man has skills!
