Project Car Spotlight: A Clean 1967 Camaro Goes From Mild to Wild With Blown LS Power

BangShift member c6matt may have set the speed standard for documenting the build of his killer 1967 Camaro. Within the span of a few hours after joining up he had the whole life story of his Camaro posted along with a pile of awesome build photos. Matt did the sensible thing, he started with a very clean car and saved himself the headache that comes with buying some heap that’s been in a farmer’s field for 30 years.

Matt first bought the car with a 327 4-bbl engine in it, hooked to a Powerglide transmission. It took him about 13 seconds to decide that the limp little 327 wasn’t going to be leading a long life in the front of the ‘Maro. In the place of the traditional Mouse engine would go an LS1 plucked from a 2000 Camaro SS. Plans for forced induction were also circulating in Matt’s head.

This car has gotten the royal treatment from Matt, and his thread is totally awesome just for all the photo documentation he provides. Through all the visuals, this is a great tool for anyone looking to put an LS engine into a first generation Camaro.

Hit the link below to see Matt’s clean and tidy 1967 Camaro slowly transform into an angry beast capable of roasting tires for city blocks at a time.
