Project Car Spotlight: An Odd-Ball Mopar Project That We Love

If you are a regular reader of BangShift.com you know that we really love dirty, hands-on projects. Bonus points are usually awarded if said project involves an off-beat, under loved, out of the norm car. Such is the case with BangShift.com member Remy-Z’s 1981 Dodge Mirada CMX. Bryan is a Mopar guy at his core and found this gem for $650 and started wrenching and fixing stuff right off the bat.

The main reasons we enjoy following this project are Bryan’s colorful, entertaining, and hilarious updates. From battling with evil dash lights that were channeling Lucas electronic demons to an exhaust system upgrade that freed up the power of a Honda from the 318ci mill under the hood, it’s great reading.

There aren’t whole lots of Dodge Mirada’s running around and apparently the CMX package was intended to be the “sporty” version of the big coupe. It’s not going to run 10s at the strip, but this car and project really capture the essence of what being a geahead and BangShifter is all about. Find something cheap, wrench on it, bleed on it, swear at it, do burnouts with it, and slowly end up with something cooler and more fun than you started with.

Hit the link below and start reading, you’ll fall in the same kind of bizarre love with this Mirada that we have!
