Project Violent Valiant: Here’s The Timid Little Car Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle Is Starting With!

Every project starts somewhere. We wanted to make this first update on the awesome Violent Valiant being built by Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle about the little Plymouth that’s to be transformed into a romping, stomping pro touring slayer. Originally purchased with the intent to be built into a street/strip car for his girlfriend, Kevin Tully located this little gem on eBay. What caught his eye? The thing was a slant six, four speed Valiant from California with 63,000 original miles! Even guys like Tully and his crew that can pretty much make or fix anything that a customer needs didn’t want to deal with a rusted heap that was about to split in two, hence the bonus in purchasing a clean, intact car from the coast with the most sans rust.

The car was so nice that Tully and his girlfriend were taking turns using the thing as a daily driver! He has had the car in his possession for a couple of years now and when he and his guys were inspired to build a pro touring machine that was not the same cookie cutter Camaro or Mustang that he has seen so many of, the little Valiant jumped right off the page at him. Take a few minutes to scroll through these photos and get a good look at the car. In the next update, we’re going to show it getting pulled apart and prepared to head to the stripper. One thing we can promise you about this build is that it isn’t going to be one of those deals that languishes in the corner. Tully is going to jam on this thing HARD to have it ready for battle come Spring time in Illinois.

So little 1964 Valiant Signet 200, you’ll not be a meek weakling for long! This baby is on the fast track to becoming VIOLENT!

So the plan is that we’re going to bring you near weekly updates of the build. The Violent Valiant construction has already started. We’ll be back next week to show you the starting point, where we are headed next, and maybe some cool tech tech stories as well. Each of the build partners will be showing their wares on BS as well. This car is going to be awesome when it is completed and we can’t wait to show you how is will get there!

Good luck with this one. My first drag build was a 1965 Dart. Needed a shoehorn to fit the 340 and had to run fenderwell headers! Man was it fun when it was done!
