Fuel Delivery: The Value Of Sumps Over Pickup Tubes In The Tank Of Cell Of Your Hot Rod From Aeromotive

We talk a lot about how we’re spoiled living in today’s world of seemingly limitless access to horsepower in our street machines and race cars but the reality is that with the increased power comes some new challenges and one of them is overcoming the need to move loads of fuel from the rear of the car to the front in sufficient volume to feed that hungry engine. We talk lots about having enough pump to get that fuel up but what about the tank and how the fuel actually comes out of it. When you start to make 500 or more horsepower your stock stuff is going to be taxed to its limit and potentially become a hinderance to your horsepower plan.

In this story from Aeromotive, they talk about how the rise of EFI and performance expectations in general have evolved their business to meet the needs of their customers both on the track and on the street. When they began releasing products like the Stealth tank line that allowed stock tanks to feed killer cars everyone was excited but when they released the Phantom a couple of years ago, it really changed the game because you could literally make any tank capable of supporting incredible power numbers. You didn’t have to have a “common” car type supported by a Stealth tank, your Gremlin tank could feed four digit power levels.

This is about evolution, fuel delivery, and how they have all come together over the years at Aeromotive.
