Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Releases New Clutch And Throttle Position Activation Switch

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Releases New Clutch And Throttle Position Activation Switch

One of the coolest things about modern hot rodding is that true modern hot rods have all kinds of interesting features built into them that can be tweaked and used for the gain of BangShifters the world over. Take for instance the fact that these cars and trucks have TONS of sensors and electronic stuff attached to them that are designed to be used as information collectors, safety devices, and replacements for old school mechanical stuff. Smart companies have figured out how to use this stuff to make cars easier to hot rod and/or faster. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering’s new Programmable Clutch and Throttle Position Activation Switch is a perfect example.

This piece, which sells for about $100 taps into the clutch pedal position sensor, throttle position sensor, accelerator pedal position sensor or whatever your particular modern car has in that department. Why would you want access to this stuff and how could you use it to your advantage? Let’s say you have a nitrous setup, a two step, or similar device that would normally cause you to have to add micro-switches at various places in your car to get them to work….no more. This deal plugs in and you’re in business. You can tune it with dip switches and set it to work at the position you want it to. Pretty trick stuff from a company that has a 40 year history of developing pretty trick stuff.

LINGENFELTER RELEASES PROGRAMMABLE CLUTCH AND THROTTLE POSITION ACTIVATION SWITCH

DECATUR, Ind. – The Lingenfelter Performance Engineering CTAP-001 Clutch and Throttle Position Activation Switch is designed to tap into the sensor signal from a clutch pedal position (CPP) sensor, throttle position sensor (TPS), accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor or other similar automotive sensors and provide user adjustable switched outputs.

The CTAP-001 Clutch and Throttle Position Activation Switch allows external devices looking for a +12 volt or ground activation signal – such as a nitrous controller, 2-step or other device – to be used on newer vehicles that are equipped with clutch pedal position (CPP) sensors or electronic throttle (ETC) without having to add additional micro-switches to the vehicle. Outputs include normally OFF ground activation, normally ON ground activation and normally OFF +12 volt DC activation.

Designed for use with many newer GM vehicles that no longer use a clutch position switch, the CTAP-001 module is suited for drag and road racers with electronic fuel-injected equipped vehicles.

An optional plug-and-play harness (part #L480370108) is available for use with the CTAP-001 Clutch and Throttle Position Activation Switch that makes the product even easier to install on the clutch pedal position sensor of these vehicles:
* 2010-2014 Camaro
* 2008-2013 C6 Corvette
* 2014 C7 Corvette
* 2009-2014 CTS-V
* Many other late model vehicles

Another optional plug-and-play harness (part #CE105454) is available to make it easier to connect the CTAP-001 to the electronic throttle on GM Gen IV V8 (LS2, LS3, LS7, LSA, LS9 and other similar engines) equipped vehicles.

The Lingenfelter CTAP-001 Clutch and Throttle Position Activation Switch does not require a separate micro-switch be installed in the vehicle and can be adjusted to activate or deactivate anywhere in the clutch or throttle travel. The module works with rising or falling voltage signals and has adjustable activation points in 1 percent increments. The module is compatible with most electronic throttle equipped vehicles. Specifications include a high- temperature, glass-filled nylon enclosure and fully potted circuitry for added durability and vibration resistance. The module is not required for use with the Lingenfelter NCC-002 Nitrous Control Center as it has the same capabilities as the CTAP-001 already built in.

For additional information on Lingenfelter’s CTAP-001 Clutch and Throttle Position Activation Switch (part #L460190108), which retails for $114.95, call 260-724-2552. The switch can be purchased through the Lingenfelter website at www.lingenfelter.com or through an authorized Lingenfelter dealer.
