Vortech Superchargers and Chris Alston Chassisworks Team Up and Hit the Road Together in 2012!

Vortech Superchargers and Chris Alston Chassisworks Team Up and Hit the Road Together in 2012!

The team at Chris Alston Chassisworks spend a lot of time on the road every year. From industry trade shows to drag races, car shows, and other events, they keep themselves right in front of the hot rodding public. This year they’ll have some traveling companions in the crew from Vortech superchargers. The two companies have been working together a lot since Chassisworks rolled out their neato CDS (Component Drive System) for mounting centrifugal blowers like Vortechs last year. Also, the house drag car that Chassisworks runs, an Outlaw 10.5 Nova that dives deep into the 6’s runs a pair of Vortech V-28 123 racing superchargers on the Hemi that fills the engine bay. It is pretty safe to say that these guys have a great working relationship.

Vortech and Chassisworks will be together for more than 30 events this year! We have the whole schedule below, along with the official press release from Chassisworks. Check the schedule and stop by their display when at one of the events they are attending. Make sure to tell ’em BS sent ya!

Here’s the full release:

Sacramento, CA and Oxnard, CA—Vortech Superchargers will be onboard with Chris Alston’s Chassisworks 2012 Show/Race schedule to showcase Vortech products and services at all 35 stops on this year’s road show. The relationship was born in racing and flourished in the transfer of technology as Vortech worked with Chassisworks in bringing the V-28 123 racing supercharger to the record books. Last year Chassisworks released its Component Drive System (CDS) supercharger drive setup for Vortech and other centrifugal superchargers in the racing and street-performance markets making the relationship mutually beneficial for both parties.

The on-track relationship with Vortech and Chassisworks began when the longtime chassis and racing component company was looking to take its Outlaw 10.5 racing program to a higher level. Chassisworks campaigns a 1964 Chevy Nova on the western Outlaw scene as a means to promote its products for that genre of drag racing. Vortech had just unveiled its V-28 123 racing supercharger and as they say, the rest was history. Chris Alston Jr. and his crew pushed the Chassisworks Nova to new records in the centrifugal supercharger realm by knocking down a best and unmatched 6.65 at 215 mph. This came at a surprise to some, as the Vortech inlet was some 16mm smaller than the previous supercharger that was on the car yet it ran significantly quicker. The team made the switch to a Hemi engine last year and is scheduled to be on the engine dyno to see how far the V-28 123 can be pushed.

In the meantime, here is a list of events Chassisworks is attending and it will have a complete Vortech Supercharger line-up displayed alongside the company’s chassis and racing components.
