We Have A Winner! Robbin Tschilar Guesses Our ET And MPH And Wins A Free Racepak Sportsman 1320!

When we put up the announcement that we were throwing a contest to see who could guess what ET and MPH Larry and I and the gang would run this past weekend, the number of guesses went through the roof. When we announced that the winner would receive a FREE Racepak Sportsman 1320 Data Logger Kit, the roof blew the hell off the building! With a difference of only .116 TOTAL between ET and MPH, without going under and over respectively, Robbin Tschilar is the winner with a prediction of 5.956 at 244.32 mph! We talked to Robbin last night on the phone and not only is he a real deal racer, but also a regular BangShifter which made us extra proud. For those of you who guessed but did not win the Grand Prize, Racepak will be contacting you with something special just for you. And look for future contests here on BangShift this year where you can win more stuff from our great sponsors too.

Robin guessed 5.956 at 244.32 mph, which was damn close to our actual 5.950 at 244.43. When I asked him how he got so close, he said “Well, I’ve been a racer for a long time, it was a pretty educated guess.”

Robin owns Specialty Machine in Glendale Arizona, and has been an engine builder for decades. He’s a one man band who gives direct attention to his customers and builds race and high performance engines for a lot of racers in the area. Robbin has also campaigned an A/ND (A Nostalgia Dragster) in NHRA Competition Eliminator for years, with sponsorship from the late Ed Justice, and is now building a Camaro that will be a hot street car. He started to say it would be a Drag Week car on the phone with me last night, but then backpedaled. Maybe he doesn’t want to let the cat out of the bag so to speak. We’ll see next year! He sent us a photo of his All Steel Camaro that he used to run in the Fastest Street Car Series, and it looks like it might have been a real player the way it left with the front end high in the air. Check out the video below too. If you live in the Glendale area and want to get in touch with Robbin about his services at Specialty Machine, then call him at 602-550-5310 and tell him BangShift sent you. He’ll treat you right.

I have to mention one special “guess” on our performance this weekend as well, since it was probably one of the most creative and showed just how much this guy paid attention. Brad Hatfield will be getting an honorable mention T-Shirt for the following prediction.

[email protected]

5.934 because it’s exactly 1 second quicker than the first 6 second streetcar,
24-7-365 because that’s how you guys made it happen.

We loved this one because Brad not only put some thought into it, but also was pretty darn close.

We have a video about Robbin’s 1987 Camaro below. And once you look at it you’ll know that this guy is our speed. Check it out.

    WOOOT!

Thanks Bangshift and sponsors for the great coverage.

Congrats, Larry, Chad and crew on what is likely the last full second barrier a streetcar will break.

    Congrats, Robbin.
Damn, I must have been close with my guess 5,950 @ 242,43.

Thank You very much for bringing the coolest LIVE races to us FREE via the internet. Standing on top of a motor home, manually panning a camera TWICE per run x 400 runs = DEDICATION to the cause.

I hope the Lord blesses your efforts for a whole lot of years to come.

    Hugh
