How Driveshaft’s Are Built At Mark Williams Enterprises. Way Cool Stuff

Driveshafts can cause A LOT of problems if they are not properly spec’d and not built correctly. Brian has seen first hand what a stock shaft will do if you just spin it too fast, even with stock horsepower. On Daphne’s wagon we took into account it’s 4200 lb weight, how much power we were putting through it, and how stupid long it is, before deciding on a shaft that will live. It’s important. And the guys at Mark Williams take driveshafts very very seriously. They can cause incredibly amounts of damage if they fail, and can result in catastrophic injury to both the driver and the vehicle.

This video is cool, because it shows how they test, build, and spec driveshaft sizes, materials, etc. It also shows how they build them, balance them, and more. If you haven’t seen a driveshaft built before, this video will impress you. Like everything at Mark Williams, their driveshaft building stations are impressive as hell. This is one top notch facility.

C’mon Chad, you guys are supposed the be semi-respectable journalists now … please stop with the unneeded apostrophes! Driveshafts (plural), not Driveshaft’s

Last several years more and more people doing this, as well as making something that ends with a y into a plural by putting ‘s on the end of it instead of properly changing it to ies. An apostrophe doesn’t mean “look the hell out, here comes an S”. Obviously this makes the grammar and spelling nazi in me come out. You didn’t spell it like this in school 10 or 20 or 30 years ago, don’t do it now because of the uneducated clowns around us these days are doing it. The spelling & grammar rules didn’t get changed, just more and more people doing it wrong.

Have a nice day everyone! LOL

    cheers
    Ed
