The Family That Hot Rods Together…Stays Together! The Patterson Family Likes Patina and Performance (Video)

We always love it when hot rodding is a multi-generational family affair and so do the guys at Holley. We can say that with confidence after watching this video, which was shot by the Holley guys at the 2013 Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion. In the film, the Patterson family, along with their vehicles is profiled and it is a great watch. There are some great old trucks shown here and the guys all built them on their own. The National Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green is one of the best events we attend every year because of people like the Pattersons. We appreciate raw car building talent at much as the next guys but when you take that talent and also inject some creativity into the mix, you end up with stuff on the level of the Pattersons’ trucks.

While we all celebrate the finished project, you have to love the fact that these were all basically abandoned trucks when they started on the road to recovery. Purchased for a couple hundred bucks when the projects got started, they were the perfect canvas to show of skills and acumen in the car building department. The fact that they all run and drive good is another testament to the detail work that normally keeps people tied up in the paint booth, or worse and not driving their stuff. The best line out of the whole video is when the dude says, “Custom don’t come in the box” RIGHT ON!
