Train Derailment In Montana Dumps Three Boeing 737 Fuselages Into River

Train Derailment In Montana Dumps Three Boeing 737 Fuselages Into River

A train derailment is always a bad-news situation. But what happens when the derailment sends whole aircraft into a rushing river? One Montana Link Rail conductor will find out shortly, after a train derailment sent several cars into the Clark Fork River, along with two Boeing 737 fuselages, with a third sitting precariously close on the bank. The other rail cars were carrying parts for 777 and 747 aircraft, soybeans and denatured alcohol, which was safely moved to other rail cars.

Depending on the model of the 737, the plane is worth between $76 million and $110 million, though the Boeing Business Jet 737 can be significantly higher due to customizations ordered by the buyer. The 737 is Boeing’s moneymaker, as it’s the best-selling jet in aviation history.  We’re just wagering a guess here, but unless this derailment was a pure freak accident, such as ground giving way, someone’s going to lose their job.

Hold it !! Got a plane to catch 🙂 Sorry.

That’s what you get for shipping rail, no small loses.
On a positive note, if the buyers don’t cancel there orders and buy Airbuses ,there is more work to be done.
