The HSV Grange is a wicked-up Holden Caprice. Think of it like a Chrysler SRT-8, or a BMW M5: the power is part of the equation, at least equally with the luxury, in a large car. It’s not an absolute monster of a machine, but more like the quiet professional…it can act when called upon, but for the most part, you shouldn’t know what it’s capable of beneath that mature exterior. Well, as you can see, factory stock just wasn’t in the cards for Josh Calgaro. His Grange used to be a supercharged skid car, but now it’s a racer, complete with a BK Race Engines built Dart “LS Next” 427 mill complete with twin turbochargers. How fast is it, truly? Calgaro told dragnews.com.au: “I had never raced before so my good mate rolled me into stage and I began the transbrake and 2 step. Took a while to come up on boost – the suspence was killing me while I waited. It came up and I let it go, and f**k me, I was in for a ride.” Not the horsepower figures you were probably looking for, but that pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?
