Burnout Video: Frying Tires In An Aston Martin V8, Just Because

Aston Martins are supposed to represent the upper end of what’s left of the British style of grand-touring car manufacturing. Newer Aston Martins have been press pleasers for years now, and James Bond made the 1965 DB5 an icon. But what about the 1970’s era Aston Martin V8? It doesn’t get near the amount of love that the older Astons do, even though the car was a proper thing to behold at the time, with horsepower somewhere in the 310-330hp range and a top speed going into the 170mph range. They are handsome, straightforward, and in the proper hands, a weapon.

In this video, a man named Dan brings his V8 out and proceeds to do the proper thing with it: annihilate the rear tires with extreme prejudice. The 5.3L V8 sounds like it’s got a bit of an assist on it, though from the one still shot I can’t tell if it’s the loudest turbocharger in history or a belt-driven blower on it. Either way, the car sounds like a good V8 coupe should. Oddly enough, and I’m sure it’s blasphemy to say, but watching this Aston burning the tires made me think of something: Is it just me or does this thing look like a Ford Maverick from certain angles? No matter how you look at it, this is proper British anger and we’d love to see more of it.
