Crash And Burn: Rob Collard Goes Rolling At Silverstone During British Touring Car Championship Race

During the second British Touring Car Championship race at Silverstone, Rob Collard’s WSR-prepped BMW 125i M Sport was clipped by Jack Clarke’s Ford Focus, sending the BMW into a series of rolls at Becketts corner. Collard had been fighting to gain position throughout the race, but after climbing up to fifth, he started to drop places. Clarke had lost control of his Focus after coming into contact with another car and was attempting to recover from a semi-spin when he struck Collard’s car in the left-rear tire, breaking the tire off and launching the BMW up and over. Collard reportedly appeared to be fine after he exited the car but was moved to a nearby hospital in Coventry as a precaution. The race was red-flagged after the crash.

British Touring Car racing is not known for being dull or timid…this is a racing series known for heavy hits and short tempers. This  is one hell of a roll and we hope Collard escaped it without serious injury.
