We don’t know what is powering this 1969 Dodge Super Bee, and frankly, we really don’t care. Whatever lives underneath that hood has more than enough entertainment potential to satisfy us. This isn’t a passing review of the Super Bee’s looks, though the black and purple paint looks great. It’s not running a race, it’s not sitting at a show. It’s backed up at the far end of a parking lot and there’s evidence that tire torture is imminent from the second the video starts playing. Once the driver is ready, he buries his foot into the big Dodge and to hell with the tires, it’s a side-walking burnout across the lot. The motor, which we’re willing to bet is a well-built Wedge motor, completely blocks out the sound of idling Harleys nearby. It’s glorious.
Hit play below and enjoy thirty seconds of very, very pissed-off Dodge!
(In Mick Dundee’s voice) “Now that’s a burnout!”
Now, THIS is a burnout!
(Thanks to Mick Dundee.)
Why do big block Mopars just sound so much better, than ANYTHING around?
(Or, why do drag racers STILL use the same basic B block {gen 2 426 Hemi} design?) ‘Cause it STILL works!
