Summernats, the Australian free-for-all home of horsepower, just wrapped up their 30th anniversary show. Everything you would expect to experience at one of their shows was present and accounted for: car shows, cruising, and of course, the staple of the wild side of Summernats, the burnout contest. It’s difficult to not call every machine that enters the pit of vulcanized rubber “violent”, because they all are massively overpowered, a bit on-edge, and at any moment can fling either the wasted skins of tires or a piston or two. But there’s always that one vehicle that stands out above the pack, and this dentside Ford is that vehicle. It is balls-to-the-wall from the moment it’s cleared to start, and doesn’t end until well after the tires have ceased to exist. It’s louder than the middle of a bar brawl and just as ugly, but then again, that’s the way we dig ’em!
