Lucky Ain’t The Word: CNG-powered Truck Explodes Next To Fuel Pumps In Iran

Lucky Ain’t The Word: CNG-powered Truck Explodes Next To Fuel Pumps In Iran

“Sometimes, it’s just not your day.” Take that as you may when you apply that statement to what this Iranian man went through while topping off his CNG-powered pickup. At first, things seem to be going just fine, then all of a sudden the man becomes alert and panicked, and the next thing anyone knows there’s one hell of an explosion. The truck is instantaneously destroyed, with the cab caved in and the entire left side of the bed blown away. The man walks away, though it’s hard to believe that he walked away uninjured after being so close to the truck when everything went wrong. The more amazing thing is that the detonation is right next to the freaking fuel pumps and nothing more dramatic happened. Had an explosion like that occurred next to most any fuel pump in America the fireball would be visible from the International Space Station. Click play below and see why this man may never go near a vehicle again.

(Thanks to Scott Clark for the tip!)

It didn’t explode in a fireball, it exploded because it was overpressurized and basically ruptured.

What they don’t tell people is the station’s pump was having issues and apparently did not shut off when it was supposed too, causing an over pressurization and the tank blowing up. Find me a video of the same thing happening here in the US?! You won’t, because we actually have safety devices here to prevent that!
