There isn’t much more that we can think of that would torment a driver quite like having to row through an Eaton Roadranger gearbox while trying to hustle the rig it’s working in around like a sports car. That takes a special kind of crazy, someone who feels perfectly invincible in a big rig, can row gears with the grace of divine intervention, and preferrably isn’t humming “Eastbound and Down” to themselves as they do it. The skill it takes to keep a race-prepared rig the size of a Mack R-series upright, moving, competitive and in control is pretty impressive…almost as impressive as the noise coming from the diesel V8 that is shoving this rig along.
