This Nissan GT-R Launches Hard…Not Off The Line, But Over The Barrier!

This Nissan GT-R Launches Hard…Not Off The Line, But Over The Barrier!

The Nissan GT-R may have not been designed as a drag racer, but when you combine the twin-turbo 3.8L V6 with a brilliant all-wheel-drive system and a launch control system that can best be described as “neck-snapping”, it’s very, very difficult to not see it as a perfect holeshot machine. Many racers have built GT-Rs into capable drag machines, and this one, racing at Edinburg Raceway in Texas sounds no different. Unfortunately for our driver here, a few feet after launching the car gets squirrelly, points it’s nose at the Armco barrier on the right side and proceeds to launch up and over the barrier and into the grass with the grace and delicacy of a sledgehammer hitting a brick.  At least it looks like there were no injuries and that most of what came off of the GT-R is cosmetic stuff…we hope.
