Northstar? Nope! Check Out This Straight-Up Brutal Big-Block Chevy-Powered Cadillac DeVille!

Count this eighth-generation Cadillac DeVille sedan as the most eye-opening freakshow of a car we’ve seen in quite some time. Why is that? Well, because it’s an eighth-generation DeVille, for starters…that means that even with the LED lights and the slightly curvy bodywork, that this is still, for all intents and purposes, a 1990s Northstar Caddy at it’s finest. That isn’t a compliment, by the way: when they are good, a Northstar can be a great engine. When they are bad…well, you might as well call in a witch doctor for your engine diagnosis, according to the fun we’ve had working on them. And don’t forget that they are front-wheel-drive, to boot. Why would we care about a front-driver Caddy that isn’t blowing the front tires off to no end?

Well, just hit play and have a good listen. We are working to find out more about this particular car, but the photo tells you what that otherwise ridiculous hoodscoop knows…there is a Chevrolet 572 crate mill stuffed into that engine bay. We don’t know what trans is backing it, we don’t know what was used to convert it to rear-drive (because nothing short of an Eldorado/Toronado’s THM-425 would tolerate the output if it’s still front-drive) and we don’t know just how complete the car is. Nor do we care. Imagine this thing quieted down and with a flatter hood…you’d make a killing lining up races for money. Someone has some creativity and used every last ounce of it on this beauty…now we need details, dammit!
