The Second Video In The Craftsman Made To Race Series Is A Spectacular Look Inside The Hot Rod Chassis And Cycle Shop

BangShift readers are super familiar with the boys at Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle in Illinois. They are the guys who are building the Violent Valiant project we’re following along with the Whistling Death Chevelle which is also coming together on the pages of BangShift. Between those two cars and this Mercury Comet that they are building as the Craftsman Tools Made to Race campaign, the guys are really hustling. This video takes a look at the shop and the men who actually create the amazing cars that roll out of its doors. Machines like the Cosmic Outkast and a host of others are not built by robots, ordered from catalogs, or 3D printed. They are built, formed, tugged, pushed, pulled, and hammered out by craftsmen inside a shop. The video here profiles the men at the chop that Kevin and Chad helm in Illinois and it rules.

The voice you hear in the video is that of Kevin Tully and over the artfully shot footage he talks about how the guys in the shop are all talented in different ways and all are free thinkers. He talks about the process of creation where not everyone shares the same opinion on how things should go and the way that flow of ideas helps to make things better in the end. There’s a father and son who work together at the business, a young sheet metal working phenom, and a crew of dudes who are made up of individuals that all bring something strong to the table.

This one isn’t about flash and dash, it is about the soul of why any of us do this stuff. To learn that those doing at the highest level share the same basic, instinctive love for the cars and the process as we do is pretty fantastic.
