The American Powertrain Parting Shift: A Mustang Driver That Wields The Shift Handle Like A Weapon

This video rules because it is a nine second run with a stick box done the old fashioned way. This dude powershifts the absolute wee out of this car enroute to a 9.25/143mpg blast. The ‘Stang apparently runs a 347ci small block with a fogger setup on it. Add that with the ratty looking paint and smallish rear tires and there’s not a guy around who would look at the car and dub it a nine second performer.

This video was posted in November of 2012 and judging by the lack of leaves, this run definitely happened in the fall. Racers in the northern parts of the country know that there’s big horsepower to be had in that dense fall air, so long as the track has enough teeth to hold onto the car. This one does and the driver of the car does an absolutely masterful job of banging through the gears. Listen close beause he hits second either right before, or just as the tires come down from the launch.

This is one bitchin’ little Mustang!

There is some cheering and hoopla at the end. We can’t tell if it is an F-Bomb or not, but someone yells something that comes close so if you are at work, be careful!

Not bad. But the best stick video I’ve ever seen is a Foxbody in a vid called “347 Mustang on Nitrous” or something like that. Check that one out.
