Keep your “kaboom!” jokes to yourself with this particular 1979 Ford Pinto, because this snotty little bastard is proof that you don’t need to be making Hellcat-territory power figures to have fun with your ride. This car is powered by a 289 Ford that makes 233hp and 234 ft/lbs of torque. Nothing spectacular normally, but the noise it makes for it’s dyno run and the burnout contest tell a different story, one of a little car that would be a fun street beater.

Unfortunately, by the owner’s admission, this particular Pinto was simply a testbed for a Pinto wagon that he was working on a few years back. He’s based out of northern Arizona, so if you know who he is or what this guy has been up to, let us know!

Fun is more important than fast, and this one looks fast enough! My little 360 Arrow pickup isn’t going to be any kind of match for the Hellcats, or maybe even SRT’s and ScatPack’s, but its a hell of a lot cheaper and more fun. I’ve had a V8 LUV pickup, and 302 Courier, and now the 360 Arrow. All good cheap fun!
