Spring is here and racing season in on with a fury. That means local circle tracks are running their great “Saturday Night Thunder” style programs that mix in fast cars, enduro style cars, and even spectator on spectator racing to keep the crowds happy. I love the spectator drags because it places to people on the track that probably (a) have an inflated sense of their own abilities and (b) are not used to operating in front of a crowd. Clearly, the crowd was amped up to see this Fox-body VS third-gen Camaro match up at whatever New England track it went down at. Things get kind of weird before the green flag was thrown because the two cars lined up so close that there couldn’t have been more than a couple inches between them. Rather than spreading them out, the flagman threw the green and that’s why the dookie really hits the ol’ spinning fan blades.
Almost instantly, the driver of the Fox-body Mustang drifts to his left, directly into the path of the Camaro. The two cars get locked together but the Camaro somehow frees itself without causing mortal damage and streaks around the track. The Mustang guy does not give chase and tries to make his case against Camaro guy to track officials. One dude who wasn’t impressed was the announcer who brings the thunder in calling the guy stuff like “dingbat” and other hardcore old guy insults. The crowd eats it up as the announcer basically shames the Mustang dude off the track. This is greatness. Chad would totally approve of this guy.

Camaro looked good with the Firebird nose. Had a freind in HS who done that, but it didn’t turn out so well. Mustang was definetly a poor loser.
there is another one of these where a guy drove up the side of another guys car so the other guy spun around and rammed him as he crossed the finish line !
