Here’s a great couple of videos, because instead of just the gory crash and burn, we also get to see the great recovery. This racer, who goes by Rick VanRipper, has a A/Gas Supercharged ’40 Willys that is very true to an original car. It’s a steel bodied car that is said to have been a Gasser in the ’60s. And it runs hard, too. In the first video, we see a 9.14 at 142 mph.

But, in 2006, Rick rolled the car in the lights and totally destroyed the car. By 2007, he had it fully repaired and back in action. Like he says, “It would not be American to send a Willys to the junk yard.”
