Watch a Blown, Dual Carb’d, Ardun Headed Flattie Grunt Out 450+ Horsepower on the Dyno

We were chatting up a gearhead buddy recently who is into the old stuff…like the real old stuff. This dude has real vintage parts like a Kong ignition,a pile of ancient Thicksun intake manifolds and he is on the hunt for a set of first run Ardun heads. The guy is like a parts detective hunting this stuff up. It is a neat obsession in our book, that’s for sure. Since that conversation we have been watching cool Ardun Flathead Ford videos on YouTube and ran into this dyno video featuring a couple of pulls made by the engine described in the title. Something making near six times the horsepower of stock is neato.

This engine is a 296ci flattie topped with the Ardun heads, what looks to be a 4-71 blower, and a pair of four barrel carbs. The description on the video claims that the engine made 456hp @ 6500RPM and the torque number was about the same as the HP peak. The engine sounds really good and looks even better with the OHV heads on it. It has none of that poppy little sound a normal Flathead has, this thing is all business!

Press play to head one mean ass Flathead on the pump!
