Watch A Cummins Powered Dodge Ram Absolutely Destroy A Viper On The Drag Strip

That disappearing spec in the lead photo is a Dodge Viper and the vehicle making it shrink into nothingness is a massive one ton Dodge pickup with a highly worked over Cummins diesel that makes more than 1100 hp to the tires and a reported 1900 lb/ft of torque on the dyno. That is incredible stuff and realistic because the truck runs 11.07/120 against the Viper and rumors are that the truck has been well into the 10s before. Like any good racer, he was holding a few once he knew that the race was won. We’re not going to bag on the Viper guy because the truck is making twice the horsepower and torque than the big V10 in the sports car, but he must have had his chops busted pretty good in the pits, especially because of all the diesel soot that probably settled on the car as the truck was leading it down the track.

The Viper was not the truck’s only victim as we see the menacing black Ram eat up a Supra later in the video without much trouble. Heck, that was so easy the guy was off the throttle and coasting through the traps as the ET and MPH were both slower than his run against the Viper. Yes, the smoke may be a little much, but the only defense we have to that is the truck backs it up. This isn’t some stock soot machine that sounds like it is tough and barfs smoke for the fun of it. That motor is making some real suds. We’re wondering what is in this truck for a transmission and axles because he’s launching it in 4WD obviously and it doesn’t seem to mind. We’re guessing there are some majorly beefy driveline components holding this monster together.

I could only get a glimpse of the front axle, looks like a stocker Dana 60, probably has some 35 spline goodness in it. The stock rear axle on these is a Dana 70, not sure when they went to the bigger AAM rear (which I think is a way better axle than the 70)
