We featured Leon Smith’s crazy ass Kenworth dump truck last winter and the interwebs went wild for it. Leon sent us a note recently that he was racing up in Canada at another of the awesome big rig drag race events held all over Quebec each season. This is a little big different than the last video we showed here because the class Leon races in doesn’t require the truck to be pulling a trailer up the hill and there are actual Jersey barriers in place and some crowd control as well. We’ll assume that the Molson was still flowing like wine.
In these videos you’ll see Leon laying some heavy smack upon the competition he’s lines up against. Among his victims are an old Mack, a Detroit 2-stroke powered cab over, and a Western Star. The Western Star put up a little fight, but the others just got flat romped! Remember, Leon’s truck is running a Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine with a set of wood chipper sized compound turbos. It is manually shifted and is capable of running right down a drag strip next to a modern high performance car. It freaking spins the tires hard out of the hole on just about every run. Torque like a tug boat, baby!
