This is bar none, the craziest and most spectacular motorcycle save we have ever seen. The rider is Genki Hagata and the place is Infineon Raceway in California during a recent AMA race. Hagata was on track qualifying in the Supersport class when he came as close as we have ever seen to crashing without actually doing it.
Hagata is doing the whole knee slider deal and really hauling ass when suddenly the bike tries to come out from underneath of him. Using sheer will, amazing upper body strength, the Force, perhaps prayer, and adrenaline, he hangs on like an X Games jumper and slows the motorcycle while literally clinging to the handle bars while the rest of his body is near the front tire, completely off the motorcycle.
We’re out of words. This goes way past awesome. Genki Harata may be a super hero walking among us!
Randy Mamola did this years ago. You can see Randy’s wild save on YouTube….still, the racing gods were with this guy, too.
He looks like a frog trying to kick his way out of a predators mouth! Good work sir!
