What Happens When You Cross An Audi RS4 With A Ford Probe? These Guys Are Finding Out

What Happens When You Cross An Audi RS4 With A Ford Probe? These Guys Are Finding Out

The Ford Probe existed because Ford put a ton of money towards adapting a front-wheel-drive Mazda platform and didn’t want to completely throw away the investment after they learned that the Mustang faithful will cut you if you utter the words “front wheel drive Mustang”. Replacing the unlamented EXP as the sporty compact coupe in Ford’s lineup, the Probe managed to last eight years before getting punted for the atrocious 1999 Mercury Cougar and the Ford ZX2.

YouTuber “toffs Probe” is in the middle of combining the body shell of a 1996 Ford Probe GT with the floorpan and running gear of an Audi RS4. The Audi’s twin-turbo 2.7L V6 will be a vast improvement over the 164hp 2.5L six the Probe had, and the all-wheel-drive will mean that the Probe’s handling should be improved as well. It’s a very interesting combination and we’re curious to see how it turns out in the end.

A Ford Probe?! and I thought I was weird for spending money on an AMC Matador Coup. It should at least be fast, and by my estimation reliability will be about the same.

Well the grudge match has been won already!

Project Binky’s excellent quirky videos complete with resident lunatics win hands down!

By the way, lads when are we going to see the final videos and Binky in all her finished glory?
