If You’re Into Car-Sharing And Live In Toronto, You Might Get A Lift In Deadmau5’s McLaren

If You’re Into Car-Sharing And Live In Toronto, You Might Get A Lift In Deadmau5’s McLaren

I do find it odd that once again I’m reporting on electronic artist Deadmau5 (aka Joel Zimmerman) and his car for a second time on BangShift, but after seeing this, I couldn’t pass it up. The last time I reported on him, Ferrari had sent a cease-and-desist letter over his “Purrari” 458 Italia. Well, the Ferrari is up for sale last time I checked, with it’s Nyan Cat wrap removed, and in it’s place is a McLaren 650S. Ok, so the guy has a taste for decent supercars…I can respect that. But here’s what got him back here: On a lark, Zimmerman decided to become a driver for the carsharing app Uber. And his ride-share car is none other than the McLaren, out in the rain, late at night.

This is pretty awesome of him, to be perfectly fair. Celebrity and wealth aren’t known to combine in the form of a thoughtful person often, yet here he is, having a blast, meeting new people and quite frankly, making their night riding around in his McLaren like it’s no big thing. One of his fares was making a burrito run to Chipotle! You know that everyone who got to ride in that car had their day lifted somehow, either because a celeb drove them around, or that they got to ride in a car they only see on the Internet. I’ll admit that I like his music, but even if I didn’t, it’s this kind of thoughtfulness (as well as fun) that makes him cool. He admitted via Twitter that he enjoyed his first night and will keep it up whenever he has the time.
