Coker Tire Cruise-In 2018: More Great Iron From The Streets Of Chattanooga!

Coker Tire Cruise-In 2018: More Great Iron From The Streets Of Chattanooga!

By mid-morning, the weather was certainly starting to pitch towards the “worst” side of the equation. The sun was gone and the winds were kicking up a bit. I was bent that this wasn’t going to be a short gallery because of a bit of rain, but I also wasn’t expecting just rain either. The weather reports were including everything from strong straight-line winds to “a random tornado cannot be ruled out”. I can tolerate a lot of weather, but I draw the line at a twister, folks. So the pace sped up as I moved away from the main Coker building and down the streets towards the parking lot at Finley Stadium, which had filled up nicely since my first sweep through there. The camera had to keep clicking…at least, that lasted until the absolutely unmistakable noise of a Detroit Diesel crawling through in gear pierced the atmosphere. Event coordinators were running towards the parking lot, and my assumption was that someone was about to get kicked out.

Oh, no…hardly. One of the more customized machines that rolled up, a chopped-up GMC from the 1960s, was being guided in and parked, a giant in a field of machines. Not the only thing there, by any measure…that would do a disservice to all of the cars and trucks that had rolled in. Hot rods, muscle cars, later model rides, gorgeous rides and streetworthy machines were still all over the place…nobody was running because of the weather except for one idiot with a camera. We still have many more pictures to go, but enjoy the next gallery from Chattanooga in the meantime! Click on a photo below to continue the tour!
