You Like Engines? We’ve Got Engines! Some Of The Coolest, Weirdest, And Most Interesting On The Salt

You Like Engines? We’ve Got Engines! Some Of The Coolest, Weirdest, And Most Interesting On The Salt

If Bonneville has a beating heart it is the myriad of engines that live between the frame rails of the race cars, trucks, and motorcycles that are working hard to set records this week. They are in vehicles that range from stock bodied muscle cars and classics to custom formed streamliners, lakesters, and other creations that would make the average hot rodder mentally vapor lock. There is not another motorsport in the world that has what Bonneville offers for mechanical diversity. You’ll see some of that in these photos from the salt. Turbocharged straight eight Buick engines, hemi engines with blowers, and big inch naturally aspirated stuff rumble the ground and make big suds on the great white dyno.

We’ll be back with more mills before the week is over for sure. Today you can feast your eyes on these horsepower makers!

Any photo\’s and info on newer platform engines,,??
This is kinda why hot rod\’n is getting smaller and smaller..
no coverage of the platforms that people will build as that\’s what they can afford.. and I mean non-v8 engine platforms.. and not a 50 year old miller 4..

Not sure if my eyes are deceiving me, but was that car marked Jet Intake Stay Clear using two heater cores instead of a radiator? Weird.

All the cocktails served at the White Goose Bar and you couldn’t post a photo of the two record setting engine in #369?
