2017 Carl Casper Car Show – Utility Vehicles, Trucks, and Cool Stuff!

2017 Carl Casper Car Show – Utility Vehicles, Trucks, and Cool Stuff!

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Most gearheads own at least one vehicle considered to the ‘hauler’.  Used for groceries, parts, kids, and even as an impromptu work bench.  Now most of these don’t ‘work’ hard any more and some may have never done much.  That doesn’t change their being viewed as something for utility.  It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a square-body GMC S-15 as the one pictured in here.  The baby blue Sprint wagon powered by a tiny six was old school gold to us.

Some folks will display their rigs with actual cargo and we always look forward to seeing that stuff too.  We were treated to powered bicycles, roto-tillers, garden tractors, and more.  Last year was the first time we saw Wildman Jeff’s monster coupe and it looked fresh and unscathed then.  Now it has the battle scars from doing its thang.  The massive 1977 Suburban is part of a group called the ‘Big Body Club’ and their gathering sported all kinds of cool huge-by-wide vehicles.  The black, LWB C10 is a recently-completed resto-mod and is neat as a pin.  Super-duper clean.  We end up this gallery with a dune buggy.  Didn’t really have another article where it fit so I figure since these things usually haul lots of fun around it could go here.

Enjoy and come back for more.  Still have muscle car stuff and Nostalgia racer-ish rides.
