(Photos by Bad Brad Klaassen) – If you watched BangShift’s LIVE streaming coverage of the 2017 Spring Throwdown in T-Town you know how bad ass a race it was. The opening salvo of the Midwest Pro Mod Association along with a huge raft of race cars from all over the country turned out to make Tulsa Raceway Park the center rage of one banging high performance rock show. Elapsed times in the three second zone were falling out of the sky, fans were getting in for $10.00 a car load and it was just like the old timers like to remember the sport in its heyday.
Our man Bad Brad Klaassen was hanging on the wall and cruising the pits blasting photos and chomping a cigar all weekend and the results out of his work can be seen below. From pit thrash action to the killer header flame and burnout photos he grabbed at the starting line, Brad did a great job shooting at a track he is eternally familiar with.
If you have never attended a Throwdown race in Tulsa and you love door slammer drag racing, put this one on your list. Cheap beer, virtually free entry, and a load of cars that’ll curl your toes. How can you go wrong?!
