2018 NHRA Winternationals Action Photo Coverage: The Pro Category Racers Were Making Hay Under Cloudy Skies

(Photos by Wes Allison) – We’re continuing to hammer your computer screens, mobile phone screens, and heck, maybe even your window screens with photos from Pomona. It’s the big kick off to the NHRA drag racing season and we had a blast when we were there so that’s why the images will keep rolling over the next few days. We showed you some sportsman stock eliminator action already today so here’s some professional grade action.

The biggest professional class moment of the weekend came when Clay Millican blistered the race track with a 3.62-second elapsed time in top fuel, earning him the national record (which he already held). It was an absolutely jaw dropping run that stunned the entire Auto Club Raceway Pomona crowd. The top fuel record (to us anyway) is the premier mark to hold in the sport and depending on weather and track conditions, it’ll likely belong to Clay for a good long while!
