This T10 4-Speed, Scattershield, And Hurst Shifter With Seperate Reverse Lever Will Make You A Boss!

We found this sucker on Craigslist, and it’s so BangShift Approved we can’t stand it. It’s a T10 all setup for a tri-five Chevy, and it’s got one bad ass Hurst shifter on it already so you too can be a gear banging bad ass. This particular shifter is the one with a completely separate reverse lever, with it’s own red shifter ball and the whole deal. Haven’t seen one before? Oh they are a treat. Simply stop and put the trans in Neutral and then reach down and pull back on the Reverse lever. You’ll feel like a real race car driver before you know it! And it even comes with a brand new SFI approved scatter shield too.

Check it out.

I remember this style set-up from the ’70’s.

The shifter was simply a 3-speed unit which some folks thought was better.

Note to operator: always go to neutral before engaging reverse and letting out the clutch!

That lever with the red ball is not for reverse. It is for the lockout, if you look close you can see that it goes down to the lockout tab that you would pull up on to prevent going into the wrong gear. The shifters with a separate reverse lever were first the “ram rod” which turned into the “vertigate”. Sorry guys

Cool vintage setup. Have to say though not sure I’d be in at 1200 for a coarse spline T10. I picked up a Jerico DR-4 in great usable condition with a Long Vertical gate shifter, 6 puck sintered iron clutch, and Lakewood can for 1600 in 2014. The T10 is a ton more easily driven than my Jerico though….
